MicMas ReMiX was born in 2016 in New York City from a place of passion, purpose, and lived experience. What started as a personal mission to create healthier hair and skincare solutions quickly grew into something much bigger upported by a community that believed in the care, quality, and intention behind every product. 

As the brand grew, life evolved alongside it. Eventually, I made the move to Puerto Rico, my roots and there, MicMas ReMiX truly thrived. The slower pace, deeper connection to natural ingredients, and sense of grounding allowed the business to flourish in ways I hadn’t imagined. Puerto Rico became more than a home; it became a source of inspiration for the brand. 

Then in 2024 came what was meant to be a simple summer vacation to NYC. That trip unexpectedly turned into a staycation when I was offered an opportunity to work as a teacher’s assistant at a charter school in the Bronx. It was an experience I couldn’t pass up. Teaching had always been a dream of mine, and although I had taught ELA remotely to public schools across the United States including Brooklyn, NY  this was my chance to experience it in person. 

Accepting that role meant making a difficult decision: leaving Puerto Rico and returning to New York City home, yet not quite home anymore. That choice came with new demands. Life in NYC moved fast. Balancing a full-time job, parenting two sons as they transitioned back into city life, and running a small business became overwhelming. In the midst of trying to do everything well, something had to give and unfortunately, MicMas ReMiX took the back seat after I sold out of inventory.

During that time, I made a mistake I didn’t fully understand the impact of: I let my original domain expire. I was devastated to learn that someone else had claimed it and that it wasn’t available for purchase. I tried pivoting with a hyphenated domain, only to later learn that hyphens can create trust issues for potential customers and significantly impact website traffic. 

When no traffic came and the brand momentum stalled, I made the painful decision to walk away. But it wasn’t goodbye. It was temporary. Time passed, lessons were learned some the hard way and clarity returned. In 2026, I made the decision to come back. Not just to relaunch MicMas ReMiX, but to do it smarter, stronger, and with intention. 

Today, MicMas ReMiX is back with a new home: www.micmasremixpr.com While the domain has changed, everything that mattered remains the same: the trusted formulations, the care in every batch, and the commitment to serving the natural hair care community with integrity. MicMas ReMiX is rooted in both NYC and Puerto Rico, two places that shaped me and this brand. I’m determined not only to see MicMas ReMiX return, but to ensure it stays in the natural hair game for the long run. To my returning customers: thank you for believing in me and this brand. To new customers discovering MicMas ReMiX for the first time: welcome. This next chapter is about growth, sustainability, and honoring the journey every step of the way.
